Striving to Love God, His Word, and His People.

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what you should expect can help. So what should you expect? From the moment you walk in the door, you should expect to be greeted by a group of friendly and welcoming folks, who genuinely care about others and those in our community.

WORSHIP SERVICES

Main Worship Service

As far as our services go, we like to think that our Main Worship Service is where you will initially connect with our church. Our Main Worship Service is held on Sunday @ 11:00 am, and it is designed to encourage you to grow in your love for God. Our worship style is traditional and the dress is casual. Preaching and singing take the majority of the time, but Scripture directs us to pray, read God’s Word, and focus on missions when we meet together. We regularly do these as well as we give our people an opportunity to give financially to our church in order to facilitate our ministries and meet the needs of those in our community. A typical service lasts 1 hour.

Sunday School

Along with our 11:00 am service, we also offer Sunday School, which begins @ 10:00 am. Our Sunday School classes are loosely divided by age, from nursery to senior adults. Our class breakdown and what each class is studying can be found within the Sunday School tab under Ministries.

Wednesday Night Activities

We also gather each Wednesday evening @ 6:30 pm for Bible Study and Prayer, Youth Group, and Children’s Ministry activities.

MUSIC

We are traditional musically and are led by a gifted Worship Pastor, Marvin Saunders. We appreciate the theologically rich hymns from our Baptist heritage and a few new ones as well. Our music is always centered on Jesus and is designed to both teach and stir your affections for Him.

PREACHING

Sermons at Sycamore Baptist Church are gospel-centered expositions from the Bible that strive to communicate God’s message to God’s people in order to instruct the mind and affect the heart.

CHILDREN

During our Sunday School and Main Worship Service, as well as our Wednesday evening activities, we have a group of volunteers, who are members of our church, ready to care for your children.

Our nursery is for children age 3 and under, or those who are not yet potty trained. Please allow 5 minutes to check your child into the nursery. If you prefer to keep your child with you in our Main Worship Service, there is a cry room available at the back of the sanctuary, which provides a full view of the sanctuary and is wired for sound.

After the Offertory hymn in our Main Worship Service, children under the age of 7 are invited to attend Children’s Church in Fellowship Hall led by one of our members. If, however, you prefer your child stay with you during the entire Main Worship Service, we are fine with that too.

DO YOU HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN TO ATTEND?

Not at all. Sycamore Baptist Church’s services are all about the gospel, which we believe is relevant to both Christians and non-Christians. Our goal is to provide an environment where Christians can grow and non-believers can ask questions and learn more about Jesus and what He means for our lives. So no matter where you are at in your spiritual journey, we invite you to attend one of our services.
