Marvin Saunders is a licensed and ordained Southern Baptist Minister, born and raised in Decatur, Texas. He married Berdessa Pitts in 1979 and they have been blessed with three sons – Benjamin, Chase, and Chris. Marvin was called to the ministry in 1981 at Sycamore Baptist Church and returned to serve on staff in 1995. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas in 1987 and a Master of Music in 1991 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He completed his teacher certification in 1999 at TWU in Denton, Texas and has been teaching music at DISD since 1995. He currently teaches grades K-5 at Allen Ray and Nelda Young Elementary in Decatur, Texas. He enjoys leading the church in worship, teaching the senior adult Sunday School class, spending time with his family, photography and being outside.
